James brings 16 years of experience and expertise in real estate operations to DJM Realty. As Principal & Senior Managing Director of DJM Realty, James handles the marketing, restructuring and disposition of retail and industrial real estate properties nationally. Recent disposition accounts include CircuitCity, CVS Pharmacy, Don Pablo’s, K’s Merchandise, Kids R Us, Krispy Kreme, Sears and Toys R Us.
James has been involved in the disposition and restructuring of real estate in over 60 bankruptcy cases. Key bankruptcy disposition cases include Avado Brands, FAO Schwarz, Harrow’s Stores, HomePlace of America, Just For Feet, Kitchen Etc., Kmart, Lechters, Levitz, London Fog, Nobody Beats The Wiz, Rhodes Furniture, Treasure Island and Winn-Dixie Stores.
James has been responsible for the disposition of numerous properties of non-bankruptcy clients utilizing a strong national broker network to help quickly dispose of surplus properties. Key clients he has completed acquisitions of surplus property with include Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Petco, Linens N’ Things, Modell’s Sporting Goods, Office Depot, Staples, Applebee’s.
James provides tenant representation and site selection services and he has represented a wide variety of retail tenants including P.C. Richard & Sons, The TJX Companies, Yankee Candle, Rave Girl, Personal Training Institute, Hit or Miss and Blimpie Subs with new site selections.
Prior to joining DJM, James worked as an internal account analyst on Wall Street for a major stock brokerage company and also owned a wholesale/retail sporting goods and accessories business.
